Cardigan - Topshop
Everything else - Primani

Hello there! I'm sorry that there was no 'Ten things I love..' post yesterday. This week has been manic so far. Above are some pic's of what I wore to Uni on Monday, it's quite a simple comfy outfit but I love the dress. It's got little horses on it which I thought was really cute.

Last night I had my student paper's elections and somehow I managed to make it through my speech in front of the large crowd who attended and amazingly I was elected!! Yay!! Which means next year I will be the Features Editor for the paper which I'm so excited about. I've got loads of ideas that I want to bring to the paper and hopefully I'll get a good group of writers to work with me. Below is a pic of the lady I'd like to aspire to ;)

We then spent the rest of the night at our Union and since it's a Telegraph tradition we did a bit of Karaoke. Myself and the new Arts Editor did a terrible rendition of Rihanna's 'Only Girl in The World' which after a few drinks was probably not the best choice of song haha.

Tomorrow is my boyfriend's birthday so I'm working away on a Journalism essay today/tonight so that I can spend the day celebrating with him. I think we're going to go to our fave restaurant and then head to the cinema. Does anyone have any good film recommendations? Since both of us have so much work on we figured we'd save the night out for another time. Hope you're all having a great week so far!

All these things will follow you..

Top - Topshop
Trousers - Topshop
Belt- Primark
Wedges - Carvela
Bag - Mulberry

Happy Sunday! Here's a few pictures of what I wore today. I bought the top in the sale at Topshop and as I was going over to the checkout I spotted these amazing trousers!! I've always wanted a pair like that so I couldn't help myself ;)

My weekend has been spent writing, writing and some more writing. I've written two short stories so far, neither of which are suitable to be handed in on Wednesday as they don't fit the assignment criteria at all. Part of me knew this as I was writing them, but I gut sucked into the story and felt the need to finish them anyway. So today is back to the drawing board and I'm determined to get it right this time!!

Next week is a busy one for me, I've got my student papers election night on Tuesday, a Journalism essay to finish and also a little weekend trip to London! I can't wait. I'll be sure to take plenty of photos as I hardly took any the last time I went.

Hope you've all had a lovely weekend! Does anyone have any exciting plans this week?

Liz Earle Face Mask

Friday, 25 March 2011

"Naturally active ingredients include green clay to draw out impurities, soothing manuka honey and propolis and rose-scented geranium to help tone and balance."

Hello lovelies! This month's product of the month is Liz Earle's Deep Cleansing Mask. I've been using this mask for around two weeks now and felt the need to share this wonderful product with you all. It's a dream to use not just because of the silky texture of the mask but because most importantly, it works! I've got oily/problem skin which requires a lot of looking after in order to keep a clear complexion and this product has honestly worked a treat. I use it after cleansing and leave it to dry for around ten minutes (perfect amount of time for a cuppa!) After washing it off using the soft sponges provided my skin instantly looks healthier and squeaky clean. I firmly believe that with regular use it would help fight future breakouts too and help keep your face soft and fabulous. I love organic products and the Liz Earle range is amazing, they really leave your face and inner self feeling uplifted :) So next time you're shopping for a mask definitely keep this one in mind, it's lovely. (Please note this is not a sponsored post.)

Ten things I love.. Interior Edition.

Tuesday, 22 March 2011

Happy Tuesday! I've seen so many inspiring interiors lately that I thought I'd feature some of them as this weeks 'Ten things I love..." I hope I can afford to do up my home like some of these one day.. I'm in love.

Love the oversized blackboard here.

How amazing is that mini on the wall?!

I love Cavalier spaniels, I definitely want one later ;) Also love that hallway.

Love the massive fireplace.

I love this soft antique/rustic look. Gorgeous.

In love with the look of this bedroom, so much character.

Of course, every girls dream. An open wardrobe!

Lounge no.2  cosy & comfy ;)

Love this bathroom, it's so surreal and peaceful.

Love these private home offices too, nothing like having your own personal work space.

iPhone weekend photos..

1. Chicken ramen at Wagamamas 2. Mojitos at TGI Fridays.

3 & 4. Saturday morning walk.

5. Our cocker spaniel Barney 6. Chocolate eclairs at Gran and Grandpa's.

7. Lazy Sunday morning hair bun 8. Tea and a short story anthology.

It's been a nice weekend catching up with family and getting on with my next creative writing assignment. We went to see Unknown on Friday night, not sure if I would recommend that one... the trailer definitely made the film look better than it was. This week I've got a lot of Uni work to get on with, I only have two more assignments for this year and then I'm finally free to relax again. I'm still on the job hunt too and really hoping I might find some work before the Summer holidays begin, or else I'm going to have a lot of free time on my hands which isn't always a good thing. I like to keep active and busy!! I've got a new weekly post starting next week which I hope you'll like called 'Product of the week'.. there are so many things I'd like to recommend to people so I thought I'd start this feature and see what everyone thinks of it. Hope you've all enjoyed your weekend ;)

Afternoon thrifting..

Thursday, 17 March 2011

This week is going by rather quickly, I've been trying to get some reading done for Uni and start my next assignment. My current books are Jeff in Venice, Death in Varanasi for Creative Writing & The Importance of Being Earnest for Victorian Literature, which has given me the perfect excuse to snuggle up on the sofa with a cup of green tea and read all afternoon. Sometimes I do love my course ;)

The weather has been crazily sporadic up in Scotland this week. On Tuesday we had a snow storm and on Wednesday we had hot summer sun....! Usually that would surprise me but having lived in Scotland for a few years now I'm used to the bizarre seasonal changes that occur weekly here. On Wednesday I felt I had to take advantage of the summer weather so my friend Vicky and I took a little trip out to Glasgow's West End and went 'thrifting'. I'm glad I brought my camera along as the girl in my fav vintage shop Watermelon Vintage was happy for me to snap away, it's only made me want to go back and pick up more of the gorgeous knit jumpers they had on sale.

Tomorrow I have classes and then a meeting with my Uni's feature editor Nadia, she wants to talk to me about the possibility of running for features editor myself next semester. Exciting!! This weekend my bf and I are going to go see the new film Unknown which looks rather good. Does anyone else have any fun weekend plans?

Ten things I love Tuesday...

Tuesday, 15 March 2011

Happy Tuesday all! Hope you're having a great week. Mine's gotten off to a bit of a slow start but tomorrow will bring essay planning and then a little coffee date with a friend in the afternoon. Anyway, here's ten things I love this week...

Love these vintage cameras!

I love Miranda's new collection 'hidden memories', inspired by the connection between nature and humankind.

Love this fox scarf by Celapiu.

Love these and sadly they are so true.

Stunning flower arrangement.

Love these rings from Fancy Tree House.

Loove this photo!!

Adorable picture and the perfect midmorning snack.

I just love the calligraphy on these envelopes, it reminds me of the Hogwarts letter in Harry Potter.

& finally, I adore these little sushi cakes by Molly Bakes Cupcakes. All the proceeds go to helping Japan!!

It's a strange condition..

Dress - Rare
Necklace - Topshop
Shoes - New Look

Here are a few pictures of what I wore to my friends' 21st birthday night out last night. We had cocktails and a lovely meal before hitting a night club. Sadly my old digital camera died at the start of the evening so I didn't manage to take any photos, I'll have to steal some of my friend's ones once they posts them up on the old Faceyb. Today I'm seriously feeling the effects of last night's round of apple sourz, yuck. But I've enjoyed lounging about watching old episodes of Gossip Girl and catching up on everyones' blogs.

Next week will bring more essay writing and job hunting. Only a few more weeks until we have a break though and I'm really looking forward to going for a little weekend trip to London with my Mum and Sister. I'm desperate to visit Camden Market :)

What's everyone up to this week?

A busy week..

Friday, 11 March 2011

Hola! Sorry for the lack of blogging recently, like I predicted Uni work and writing for the student paper has consumed all of my time this week. I'm so glad to have my English assignment out of the way, but sadly this brief period of calm will not last long as I still have two more essays to go before the Easter break. Must soldier on!! Here's some little snaps from my week.

  • Me trying to convey my fed up state of continual essay writing.
  • A couple of photos of my messy desk and yummy Pret lunch.
  • Issue 6 of the telegraph came out this week. I'm featured twice in this issue :) Firstly with my column and secondly in the larger feature 'A Letter To My 16 Year Old Self'. I actually pitched that feature idea to my features editor and she loved it and got a few of us to write one. I'm really pleased with how it turned out.
  • My bf was down in London for an interview and surprised me with this gorgeous little Smythson diary. I've been wanting one for ages and I was soo excited when I saw him arrive home with this little package. They're so luxurious to write in and you can't help but want to write everything perfectly and neatly or else it will spoil the overall feel/look of it. Haha I'm such a loser.
  • Finally a little picture of Bailey. Every few days Bailey likes to tear apart his cage and rip the newspaper up. Little diva.

Has anyone got any fun plans for the weekend? My friends' 21st is tomorrow night which I'm really looking forward to. Other than that I will be enjoying some free time with my bf and possibly a little dinner trip to Nandos ;)

Oh and lastly, a lovely friend of mine has recently joined the blogging world. Please check out her blog gossamermills, which is full of quirky outfits, thoughtful posts and often features her adorable pooch, Savannah. Go show some love!!

Let loose the horses...

Cardigan - New Look
Shirt - Topshop
Skirt - Topshop
Oxfords - Primark
Bag - Mulberry

Happy Sunday!! Hope you've all had a fun weekend. Here are some snaps from today, we had a quick lunch before heading home again as we both have a lot of work on just now. I have a really busy week coming up so please forgive the lack of blogging as I'm not sure how much free time I'll have. It always feels like all the deadlines come at once :-( In the mean time here are three lovely blogs you should definitely check out if you haven't seen them already. Have a great week!!
