Jumper - Monki, Bag - Mulberry, Leggings - Boutique in Singapore, Shoes - KG

Here's a couple of photos of what I wore today. I decided to dress this outfit up a little with some heels to make it a bit more interesting.  I really love this Monki jumper, it's so versatile and can be worn with pretty much anything.

You might have noticed that I've dyed my hair darker. I quite like the whole 'light hair in summer', 'dark hair in winter' theme but this shade is a little too dark for my liking. Hopefully it'll wash out slightly over the next couple of weeks. In the meantime maybe I'll look out some of my winter hats!!

This weekend my boyfriend and I went shopping in Braehead and also stopped by Ikea to pick up some new bed linen and other little pieces for the flat (mainly candles, they have really good candle deals in there). So nothing very exciting... Although I'm really happy that the clocks went back last night as I seriously needed that extra hour to catch up on sleep. Did anyone do anything Halloween related this weekend?

I added a little edit to my last post but just in case you missed it, I've been shortlisted in Sarenza's blog competition and I would be so grateful if you could vote for me. All you need to do is tweet the following: My vote for the @SarenzaUK comp goes to Influence #SarenzaUKstyle.  If I win (and you voted) then you’ll automatically be entered into a prize draw yourself to win £800 worth of shoes!! So it's a win win really :) Thanks very much to those of you who have already tweeted. I hope you all had a lovely weekend!!

Dress - MonkiBag - Mulberry, Shoes - Primark

Happy Thursday! Here's a few photos of what I wore today. I bought this dress a couple of weeks ago from Monki and it's quickly become a favourite of mine. I love the horse pattern and the ruffled detail at the front. I'd really like to try wear it with some white tights sometime but I'm not sure if I'm brave enough..

This week is going by so quickly. So far I've been busy working on my dissertation and also trying to organise various Features to go into the third edition of my uni paper. Although I'm enjoying being an Editor this year, I have to admit that it's been quite a challenge at times. One lesson I learnt this week is that you can't please everyone all of the time..

If you're interested in reading any of my articles feel free to check out my new Written Works blog. I've uploaded a few new articles to it including my recent interview with Dynamo. Hopefully I'll manage to keep it up to date from now on.

I hope everyone's having a good week so far and thank you all so much for all of your kind birthday messages :)

[Edit - I've just found out that I've been shortlisted for the Sarenza blogger competition and I would be so grateful if you could vote for me. Birthday Weekend..

Monday, 24 October 2011

♥ ♥

Here's a few photos from my birthday weekend. I spent it through in Edinburgh with my boyfriend and his lovely Mum, Lynne. I'm still fantasising over that chocolate cheesecake!! So delicious. Lynne also very kindly painted me one of her stunning oil flower paintings, which I absolutely love. I can't wait to hang it up in our flat.

Whilst we were through in Edinburgh we visited some of my favourite places such as Urban Angel and The Broughton Street Deli. On Sunday we decided to pick up some coffees from Artisan Roast before going for a walk up Calton Hill, which has some stunning views over Edinburgh. (The Barbour jacket I'm wearing was a b-day gift from my boyfriend <3 ) We then wandered over to Arthur's Seat and tried to spot where they might have filmed the scenes for One Day. We think we may have come across the site but it's hard to tell since a lot of it looks so similar.

On the Saturday night we went to see my favourite band Bon Iver! It was easily the best concert I've ever been to. Justin Vernon and his band were simply incredible and I'm so grateful that I got the chance to see them live. There was a massive standing ovation at the end too before they came back on to play For Emma, Forever Ago and Skinny Love, which was amazing. So overall, it was a perfect birthday weekend :)

Dress - Monki
Jacket - Topshop
Scarf -  "
Bag - Mulberry
Shoes - Mellow Yellow c/o sarenza.co.uk

Here's a few photos of what I wore to Uni today. Last week I ordered from Monki online and despite a little mix up with the delivering company Hermes, I've been really impressed with Monki's whole service. The quality of the clothes I ordered is great and they fit perfectly too. After comparing their size guide with Topshop's I figured out that XS is roughly a UK size 8, which thankfully I realised right before I confirmed my order.

Tomorrow I'm attending a graduate media event through in Edinburgh, which will hopefully be quite interesting. It's my birthday tomorrow too so as a little b-day treat I decided to book myself in for the HD Brow treatment at Zen Spa, who recently had a few scottish bloggers round to review their treatments. It's been forever since I had my eyebrows properly shaped so I'm hoping it'll be worthwhile.

On Saturday I'm going to see the incredible Bon Iver! I've been dying to see them live for what feels like forever so I'm really happy I managed to get a hold of some tickets (thanks Mum!!) The rest of the weekend will hopefully be (weather permitting) spent taking some photos with my new camera lens. My parents very kindly treated me to a Nikkor 55-300mm lens for my birthday so I can't wait to use it properly.

What's everyone else up to this weekend?  xx

Top - Pull & Bear
Skirt - H&M
Shoes - Mellow Yellow c/o sarenza.co.uk

Happy Thursday! This has been such a busy week at Uni for me so sorry things have been a bit quiet on the blog front. Here's a few photos of what I wore to Uni today, nothing very exciting but I wanted to share my new Mellow Yellow ankle boots with you all. They're amazingly comfy and actually even nicer in real life then I thought they might be. I really like the mix-matched textures on these boots, and I can see them working with many an outfit.

This weekend I'll be busy editing and writing some more articles. It's been a little hectic lately but I'm hoping that by next week things will have calmed down a little.  I've actually booked myself an appointment at sk:n for a free skin consultation. I've read some good reviews about Microdermabrasion lately and I quite fancy trying this treatment out for myself. I've heard it's good for evening out skin tone which I definitely need some extra help with. Has anyone ever had this treatment done before? If so what did you think?

I hope everyone's had a great week. If you're stuck for something to do at the weekend then I'd highly recommend going to see Crazy, Stupid Love. I saw it when I was in Singapore and loved it. Plus Ryan Gosling is looking extra suave in it ;)

Also my good friend Hannah has recently started up a blog, she has amazing style and I guarantee you'll love her and her blog. Go check it out!!

I don't fall that way..

Top - Diana Vickers c/o Very.co.uk
Skirt - H&M
Belt - River Island
Shoes - New Look

Here are a few pictures of what I'm wearing out tonight for some drinks with friends. Sorry about the dodgy quality of these photos, the lighting hasn't been very good recently due to the bad weather. I can't remember the last time it hasn't rained here in Glasgow!

Very.co.uk kindly sent me this lovely Diana Vickers top. I'm a big fan of Diana Vickers' range for Very and this top was one of the pieces that stood out for me. I love the scallop sequin detail and I've found it fits me pretty well too. The quality is also great and it has a nice heavy 'well made' feel to it. So overall, I'm really impressed with this item from Diana's A/W range.

The other night I met up with the beautiful Ayden. It was my second time meeting her and like last time we had a great time chatting and catching up over a scrummy dinner at Nandos. I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend! Besides drinks this evening I'll most likely be cooped up inside working on my dissertation. Fun times..!

Jumper - Topshop, Shoes - Jeffrey Campbell c/o sarenza.co.uk

I know I've pictured this jumper on my blog before but since I've been wearing it so much lately I thought I'd share it again in an actual outfit post. I bought this lovely jumper from Topshop last year and it's still one of my favourite Autumn pieces. I'm also wearing my new-ish Jeffrey Campbell boots c/o sarenza.co.uk They're so comfy and are great for rainy days.

This weekend I visited an amazing tea garden with some good friends. If you're ever in Glasgow I'd highly recommend paying Tchai - Ovna a visit. They have the widest selection of freshly made tea's I've ever seen and the atmosphere is brilliant. In other news I've recently bought myself a domain name!! My new web address is:
