Jumper - H&M, Dress - River Island, Boots - Ash c/o sarenza.co.uk
Hi guys! Hope you've all had a good week so far. Here's a few photos of an outfit I wore the other day when it was warmer. I'm currently in love with these Ash ankle boots, they're that perfect rusty colour that seems to match everything. I'm so glad I stumbled upon them on sarenza, as I've been after a pair like these for ages. This River Island dress is also another favourite just now, I don't usually wear pink but I really love the patchwork pattern and skater style of it. The H&M jumper is from last year and somehow it's still as white as when I bought it.
I've been having one of those, I guess you can call them, 'blah' weeks. Sometimes you just get hit by these periods and they force you to evaluate everything... I think I might be experiencing a 'quarter life crisis' (they exist) as I keep wondering if I've achieved everything I thought I would by 23. Yep I'm turning 23 this month! I'm not the best at embracing new ages. I'm sure these feelings will pass and I'll find that creative spark again, but I wanted to be honest about where I'm at right now. Sometimes I wonder if I'm honest enough on my blog about these kinds of things. But I am one for positive thinking and there's always plenty to be grateful for. I just need to remember that whilst I figure the rest of this life stuff out. It's time to start planning big again!

I'm having similar feelings about turning 27 next Thursday. Not the being another year older - I seem to become happier the older I get! But the 'what have I achieved' bit.
ReplyDeleteIt's never a bad thing to reflect on where you're at and look at where you'd like to go next, but someone gave a piece of advice a while ago that stuck with me - measure yourself by your own yardstick rather than other peoples.
Jem xXx
Thanks for your lovely comment. That's a great quote/piece of advice, I'm going to note that one down :) xx

Haha! The 'outtakes' tell a different story ;) xx
DeleteYou're so brave baring your legs in this weather! (: I love that jumper, I need more snuggly jumpers for winter nights. I think I have an age related crisis every single year, I'm only twenty, but something always changes dramatically (: xx
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear I'm not the only one who has annual age related crises'. Definitely need tights now, it's freezing xx
DeleteLove the jumper and the watch, you look lovely. I think once we hit 18 most people have some sort of age related crisis, you're definitely not alone on feeling a bit "blah" I hope you're feeling less "blah" in time for the weekend :) Xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Rachel. Feeling better now :) xx
DeleteLovely outfit! The dress adds a classy touch to it. Love it! :) x
ReplyDeleteYou combined the dress so well with the sweater, well done

these boots are beautiful! Love the print on the dress too. I'm 26 and definitely feeling the pressure of wondering if I've achieved enough and comparing myself to friends, even though I know there's no point! xx
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment Rachel. I agree, there's no point comparing yourself to others. We all have our own paths xx
DeleteI know this feeling. I always seem to start off each summer thinking that way (especially after all the hectic-ness of uni is out the way). Hope you come out the other side of it soon though. It's always possible to have done more... but I think we are all often our own worst enemies, and would never be so hard on other people as we are on ourselves.
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to email you, actually, for the past few weeks just to say thank-you for being such a supportive editor last year, and to say what a great job you did. I have so much respect for you now that I'm doing the same thing... never really appreciated how much goes on behind the scenes, and I think you handled it really well. And you made me excited about fourth year (after the horridness of third year)!
Hope you have a better rest of the week!
xx
Aw thanks for your comment Melissa. You're so sweet! I know what you mean, I'm definitely too critical sometimes. Hence the annual age related meltdowns haha.
DeleteI know you'll be doing an amazing job as Features Editor. The first semester is the hardest, especially with dissertation etc. but somehow it all works out. Hope you've managed to get some new writers involved? Just keep chasing them up until they reply ;) If you ever need anything feel free to give me a holla xx
Lovely outfit, I love the mix of textures and patterns! The boots are so nice too! x
